In the world of denim, there are brands that stand out for doing things differently but with the highest quality.

Pure Blue Japan (PBJ) is one of them.

PBJ is Kenichi Iwaya's dream. After working and gaining experience in various cotton and textile mills, he decided in 1997 to create his own brand. His obsession has always been to produce unique fabrics with texture and character on shuttle looms in Ibara, Okayama, using the finest cottons from India and the USA.

These jeans are indigo-dyed in a light blue shade typical of the 1970s California/Western era. The denim weighs 12 oz., and the cotton is woven at a lower twist, creating small irregularities in the denim called "slubs."
