WHAT ARE THEY FOR AND WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF RIVETS ON JEANS?
In the late 19th century, the work clothes and trousers worn by miners, ranchers, etc. were prone to tearing due to rough use at points of greatest work/stress, such as pockets, caused by the type of heavy tools they carried.
It was then that Jacob Davis, a tailor from Reno, Nevada, came up with the idea of using metal rivets, similar to those used on horse blankets, to reinforce the stitches at the corners of pockets and the base of the fly (with buttons).
In 1872 he approached Levi Strauss asking for funds to patent and finance this invention in exchange for registering the patent together and sharing the rights to the invention.
At that moment, “Blue Jeans” as we know them were born.
NAKED AND FAMOUS DENIM
Without a doubt one of the most creative brands in the world of denim.
They are responsible for making “sniffy jeans” or the heaviest jeans in the world at 32 oz.
And this is 100% due to the creator of this concept, Brandon Svarc. N&F was born as a Canadian brand with a philosophy that seeks to let the quality of the denim speak for itself, avoiding falling victim to a world of flashy logos and mass marketing.
Brandon, who comes from a family with a long history in the textile industry, noticed a disconnect between price and quality. He began to see how brands were being inflated by expensive advertising campaigns with mediocre products, and that's when he saw an opportunity to offer high-quality jeans, made with the finest fabrics, at a good price.
Made in Montreal, Canada with Japanese selvedge fabrics and denim.
